This time, I booked two rooms: a triple and a king-size bed, both on the third floor. The rooms weren't outdated, but adequate, especially the air conditioning. A few years ago, I was given a side suite at the neighboring hotel, Taff Palm, and I still remember the roaring motorcycle noise. Phuket is less crowded now—approximately one-third fewer, especially Chinese tourists—so the hotel is dominated by Russians and Indians, but that doesn't detract from the overall quality. Breakfast is the same, but the fruit and pasta dishes are generally varied. The pool is a great place to spend a whole day with the kids. Overall, the price and location are excellent value.
The surrounding street has everything: shopping and dining. The beach is across the street, and renting a scooter is a breeze.
